Story words- decorated words relating to the story-great to use on a display or in the writing area

Photos- of different lighthouses- great for displays and discussion

Number line- A number line on lighthouses

Height lighthouses- order the different lighthouses in size order

Phonemes on seagulls- all of the phonemes from the Letters and Sounds scheme on seagulls- these look great on a display of paper ‘rocks’

Book review- write about the story and draw a picture

Worksheets-various worksheets about the story and characters

Word search- two different word searches with words relating to the story

Art and crafts

Flying seagull- cut out and assemble a seagull which can be hung from the ceiling to make a flock of seagulls

Lighthouse- cut out and rearrange the lighthouse parts before sticking them onto your page

Colouring pictures- a collection of pictures to colour of the characters, food in the story, seaside scenes etc

Moving basket sheet- use a split pin to make the basket move from the cottage to the lighthouse

Make a basket- make a 3D basket and then draw some food to cut out and add to the basket

Face masks-to colour and make

Bingo- a colourful picture bingo game

Dominoes- with colourful pictures of the characters etc

Dice game- roll a die and cover the correctly numbered seagull or play the extended version where two dice are rolled and the numbers added together
